Fujifilm's XF 1655mm F28 is a weathersealed zoom covering a 24mm equivalent range With a fast F28 constant aperture, manual aperture control and a new NanoGI coating to reduce flare, it's a highend lens to be sure Take a look at how it performs in the real world See gallery The Fuji XF 1655mm ƒ/28 R LM WR provides images with excellent sharpness, especially at the wide angle of 16mm, right from ƒ/28The Fuji 1655mm is admittedly somewhat smaller than the Canon and Nikon f/28 offerings for fullframe, but if you sit it down next to these on the one side and an Olympus 1240mm or Sigma 1850mm on the other side, the Fuji is clearly closer in size to the former (fullframe f/28 zooms) than the latter (other mirrorless or DX f/28 zooms)
The 1655 (and ) for that matter are just so big they really negate the purpose behind my Fuji kit over taking my Canon kit with me somewhere For the price of the 1655 you can get a used 1855 and a used 56mm as there are a bunch typically on B&H or at lensuathoritycom My Birds / Wildlife (7D MkII/5D IV, Canon 1022 f/3545, Canon L f/4 IS, Canon 700L f/28 IS MkII, Canon L f/4556 IS I/II) "The easiest way to improve your photos is to adjust the loose nut between the shutter release and the ground"Bherman 1 165 3 hours → WTB Fujifilm XF 1680 f4 and XF 50 f2
Recently got a & for an upcoming trip and got me thinking about downsizing my lens collection If I get 1655 it covers basically all the ranges, plus it will be all WR which none of my primes are The 1655 can replace my 14, 23 (14), 1855 At 16mm, the XF 1655mm f/28 is extremely sharp in center of the frame at the widest aperture of f/28 Very few Fuji lenses can reach this level of sharpness, so it is certainly impressive There is a drop in sharpness away from the center towards the midframe and there is a further drop in sharpness towards the corners, but that's The lens is a good performer and renders soap bubble bokeh without as much of the swirl that normally comes with that behavior This lens was one of my first personal vintage lens acquisitions Admittedly I have a soft spot for Fuji in general as my very first digital camera was a Fuji
The strength of the new XF 16mm f/28 R WR is the compact size and weight When it's mounted to the new XT30, the kit is lighter than the XF 1655mm f/28 R WR (538g versus 655g) When I had this kit around my neck, I didn't feel the weight, similar to having any of the other Fujicons mounted to one of Fujifilm's compact bodiesThe Fuji XF 1655mm f/28 R LM WR is Fujifilm's best midrange zoom for their Xseries of cameras It has flawless optics! In the center and right of the image, the difference is minimal Stopping down to f 40 and the difference is less obvious, but still the 1655 is clearly blurrier on the left At f5,6 the 1655 catches up with the 16/28 Overall the 816 is the best 16mm in this image
The 1655 maximum aperture is f/28 The primes that we talk about are f/14 (23mm) and f/12 (56mm) As noted on the roadmap back in summer of 18 Fujifilm was going to be launching a new small 16mm lens for the Xseries system by start 19 And here we are Start 19 has come and indeed Fujifilm delivered on their promise and today announced the XF16mm f/28 R WR The XF16mm f/2,8FS Sony Zeiss 1670, Tamron for Sony Bobg657 1 363 3 hours → WTB Sony 100mm f/28 STF GM OSS Lens smpetty 1 38 3 hours → FS Nikon Z DX mm F/4563 VR tobycat2 1 324 3 hours → FS Canon Control Ring Mount Adapter EFEOS R, Unopened, NEW!

When the Fujinon 1655mm f/28 was first released I thought long and hard before buying it I already had the kit lens (the remarkably sharp 1855mm f/284) so wasn't sure if the 1655mm was worth the investment, not least because it cost almost a thousand pounds and was over twice the weight of the 1855mm (655g versus 310g) The Fujinon XC 1650mm ƒ/3556 OIS lens is a versatile, compact Xmount zoom lens from Fujifilm Sold either as a standalone lens or as part of the kit for the Fujifilm I don't own the fuji 1655 nor the 56mm but I am sure they both are great lenses for portraits I did own the nikon 1755 28 Below is a photo with nice bokeh, but I did take that photo within three feet away, just to give you an idea This one was taken with my fuji 1855 The bokeh from the 1655 at 28 should look nicer I would expect

A few months back I reviewed the newest Fujinon lens in the Fuji "trinity" of fast, F28 zoom lenses That lens (the XF 816mm F28 WR) makes up the wide end of the spectrum while the XF mm F28 OS WR covers the telephoto end In between those lenses lies the most commonly used option – the jack of all trades – the XF 1655mm F28 WR On the crop sensor Fuji's, f/28 DOF looks like f/4 On full frame cameras, f/28 can give you beautiful separation for portraits even in a zoom lens You do lose a little bit of that in the 1655, but I've found it's not an issue for what the lens is best at storytelling and documentingThis lens has been used only two times that I recall Just a focal length I feel we should have in our
The 1680XF has a constant aperture of F4, which is one stop slower than the F28 of the 1655mm The 1855mm has an aperture advantage on the wide end (f28), though the F4 maximum aperture is shared over a lot of the zoom range It's that smaller maximum aperture that allowed Fuji to deliver this focal range in such a compact body, however
